NEW LABEL WILL DISTRIBUTE INDEPENDENT CHRISTIAN FILMS

Scott Eash Multimedia, a Christian media company in Pennsylvania, is forming a new branch to distribute independent Christian films. SEM Distribution will bring quality movies and documentaries to Christian families through various distribution channels including web stores, video download stores, and traditional brick-and-mortar Christian retail stores.

“Independent Christian filmmakers have many hurdles to overcome,” says Scott Eash, founder of SEM Distribution. “One challenge is financing, another is marketing, and another is distribution.” Mr. Eash, himself an independent filmmaker, sees the need to build a distribution network which he says will help overcome all three hurdles. “Greater distribution channels will lead to more sales, which will provide financing for future projects, and more financing means more money for marketing.”

SEM Distribution has already made distribution agreements with several independent film companies including, HueMoore Productions, Take 7 Films, and Valor Visual Media. SEM will begin by distributing seven films that include comedies, documentaries, and political films. “These films are as different from each other as they are from typical Hollywood fare,” says Scott. “Virtually any genre is fair game, as long as it is a film which teaches biblical worldview lessons. Not all films need to be evangelistic. We also need quality films that are designed to build up and equip Christian families.”

The first seven films to bear the SEM label will hit the retail market June 1, 2007. For more information, visit the company website at www.scotteashmedia.com.

CHRISTIAN FILMMAKER PRODUCES CONTROVERSIAL FILM

Lancaster, PA – Scott Eash, an independent Christian filmmaker, is producing a documentary film on the controversial subject of the Law of God. The small production team at SEM Video Productions recently completed shooting A Defense of God’s Law, and Mr. Eash is moving the film into postproduction. He expects to release the film on DVD this fall.

“Christians have debated the relevancy of God’s Law for many centuries,” says Scott. “We are attempting to clear up some of the confusion through a careful study of Scripture. My goal is to present this complicated subject in an easy to understand and compelling way.” A Defense of God’s Law will answer difficult questions like “Is God’s law relevant today?” and “Does it apply to civil governments?” While hosting the film, Scott Eash will address objections to God’s Law and issues including legalism and ceremonialism. The film will include interviews and speeches by Pastor William Einwechter and Doug Phillips, Esq., both of whom are national figures that are well-known advocates for the Law of God.

Scott spent eleven months researching the subject and writing the script. He says, “I wanted to make sure that I am covering this sensitive subject with biblical and historical accuracy. I also wanted to be charitable towards those who hold opposing views.” He adds, “It takes time to do that right.” With the script completed, the production team began shooting what amounted to more than five hours of digital video, including scenes of a globe, a Hebrew scroll, and a bread bowl.

Thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours have been spent on this film, and all of it will come to a head in the next several months. A Defense of God’s Law is expected to release on DVD this fall.

SEM Video Productions is a division of Scott Eash Multimedia, a Christian company that produces biblical worldview media resources. More information about Scott Eash Multimedia and A Defense of God’s Law can be found at their website, www.scotteashmedia.com.
